LOVE’S LIE
The darkness surrounds me
Voices echo all around
I wish only to be free
Yet I am never found
I fear what shall come
From opening my heart again
I don’t know where love is from
Or where it has been
It could be cruel and unkind
Unyielding to my scream
Wanting nothing more than to destroy my mind
It’s worse than it may seem
My heart was never full
Yet it was never broken
Until love came and gave me a pull
A poisonous lie was raveled with each word spoken
My soul is bruised and battered
My past only a blur before my eyes
My being on the brink of being shattered
My heart sick because of Love’s Lie.
